Who we are

ARISE Adelante, A Resource In Serving Equality moving forward, empowers immigrants living in low income communities in South Texas to attain a better life for themselves, their families and their community. Through education, resources and support ARISE provides these immigrant communities with the foundation to achieve their life goals.

Our mission

ARISE Adelante promotes the personal development and empowerment of the immigrant community, especially women, children and youth, of the Rio Grande Valley through educational programs that strengthen their organized community and civic participation.

Empowering immigrant community in South Texas for 35+ years

WHAT WE DO

Each Center offers educational programs and workshops for youth and adults that focus on personal development and leadership. ARISE runs two cycles of programs each year (January-April / August-November), and a Summer Program for children.  ARISE Adelante also focuses on social justice issues such as Immigration, Housing and the Environment.

Our Community

ARISE Adelante staff make personal visits to their residents’ homes to learn first-hand the needs of the community and to encourage residents to get involved in ARISE activities. Participants contribute back through "Servicio Contribuido" (Contributed Service), fostering dignity and a non-charitable involvement. This model promotes community change and growth, inspiring the wider Rio Grande Valley.
